By Carrie White on

To bring you and your partner together even closer, why not consider giving each other the epitome of sensuality?

Erotic massage can be used to relax, explore and stimulate all at the same time, adding an exceptional dimension to your intimate relationship. With this guide, discover the basic techniques of this ancient craft and learn how to connect with your lover on an entirely new level.
Erotic or sensual massage is also an ideal gift for everybody as it doesn’t necessarily have to be naughty unless you choose it to be.

How to Get Started

The tools required for massage are very easy to obtain. Although a professional masseuse would require an extensive kit for his/her craft, for a basic massage just a few key items are required.

Essential Tools
• Soft, calming music. To help aid relaxation and set the mood.
• Massage and warming oils, body dusts and balms.
• Aromatherapy candles.
• A comfortable place for the receiver to lie on. Consider using the floor, bed or couch. Make sure that your partner’s body is accessible from all sides.
• Warmth. Keep the room warm and cosy to help your partner to relax.
• Clean towels for covering your partner’s modesty and for wiping off oils from hands and bodies.
Taking a warm bath or shower first is a good idea to aid relaxation and to rid the body of the day’s grime and dirt.

Warm the oils used in the massage gently either by placing them in the microwave for a few seconds or placing the bottle containing the oil in a bowl of hot water. Don’t allow the oil to become too hot, though. Tepid or body temperature is ideal.

To give a body massage the receiver should lie face down with the top half of his/her body unclothed. Cover his/her modesty with a clean towel. Rub the massage oil between your two hands before applying it to your lover’s body. Gently but firmly rub all over his/her body concentrating on the muscles of the back, shoulders, neck, waist and arms. Reapply the oil as and when needed. Use your fingers and palms to manipulate the muscles, relieving tension and stiffness throughout your partner’s body.

Massage Oils
Massage oils and lotions are the ones to use if you intend to treat your lover to a back and shoulder rub. Use described as above to reduce friction between your hands and your partner’s back. Massage oils are not generally safe for use in the genital area but check the bottle to make absolute sure. They are also not safe to use with latex condoms.

Try:  Fantasy Massage Oil or the Massage Therapy Kit.

Warming Oils
Warming oils work in the same way as massage oils but will heat up with continuous use, warming your partner’s skin. These oils are safe for external genital use only. Do not use internally or with latex products unless stated on the product that it is safe to do so. Also, do not use for anal or vaginal penetration. Warming oils are best used in concentrated areas rather than full body massages. Try using them over breasts, buttocks or other erogenous zones.

Try: Durex Play Warming or Hot Hooters Booby Oil.

Balms & Body Dusts
Body dusts and balms are usually sexual enhancers of an edible kind. These products can include body paints, edible body frosting and nipple creams. One thing to be aware of whilst using these products is that they will tend to stain clothing or bed sheets during use. Use old sheets to or towels to protect your furniture or duvet from staining.

Try: Body Powder, Carnal Secrets Collection or Sensations Balm.
